The Muni Golfer's Bill Of Rights

The Muni Golfer's Bill Of Rights

Because paying $67 for a tee time shouldn’t require joining a country club.

Public golfers deserve certain inalienable rights.

  • You have the right to a breakfast ball. The Constitution is admittedly vague here. We are not.
  • You have the right to wear a hoodie. Your collar has never fixed your slice.
  • You have the right to music in the cart. At a volume that doesn't make the foursome on 14 listen to your divorced-dad playlist.
  • You have the right to play crappy golf. You do not have the right to play crappy golf slowly.
  • You have the right to move your ball off dirt that the scorecard insists is a fairway.
  • You have the right to a six-inch gimme. We have families. Pick it up.
  • You have the right to play from whatever tees make golf fun. Nobody in the parking lot is checking.
  • You have the right to inexpensive golf. A $38 muni round can produce exactly as much joy as a $400 resort round.
  • You have the right to look good while shooting 94. This one may or may not have been added by GRIPIT's legal department.
  • You have the right to another nine. Especially when the sun's going down, the course has emptied out, and nobody wants to go home.
  • You have the right to call yourself a golfer. No handicap requirement. No membership. No dress code. No permission required.

Public Golf isn't the cheap form of golf... It’s golf in its purest form.

Strangers becoming playing partners. Kids learning the game. Retired guys playing for five bucks. Couples sneaking in nine after work. Someone shooting 74. Someone shooting 114. Everybody bitching about the greens.

Different swings. Different scores. Same game.

Golf belongs to everybody.

See you on the muni.
